B. EXPORT & IMPORT PALM SHELL
Palm oil is currently trading have bright prospect for the future along with the future challenges of the industry is the use of raw materials that are environmentally friendly as well as the availability of renewable raw materials (renewable). Palm oil (Elleis Guinensis) is one important source of vegetable oil in Indonesia. Palm oil contains approximately 80% and 20% per carp lined with palm shells.
Results of the subsequent processing of palm oil can be used in various fields especially the food industry, cosmetics, soaps, paints, and even recently being promoted its use of palm oil as a raw material for alternative fuels. By-product of palm oil is palm shells that came from oil palm shell. Oil shell is the hardest part of the components contained in the oil palm. Current use of oil shell oil processing industry in various CPO yet so maximum. Judging from the characteristics of the raw material, when compared to ordinary coconut shell, coconut oil has a lot of similarities. Striking difference is the ash content (ash content) which usually affects the quality of the products produced by coconut shell and palm shells.
Shell oil can be processed into products of high economic value, namely activated carbon, phenol, liquid smoke, coconut shell powder and charcoal briquettes.
